Voice

Subspecies
Several records of hybridization with Red-capped Robin-Chat (Cossypha natalensis) in Eastern Cape. Hybrids described as Cossypha haagneri.

The following 2 subspecies are recognised:

mimica Clancey, 1981 - Northern South Africa (eastern northern Province).
dichroa (Gmelin, 1789) - Mpumalanga and Swaziland south, including eastern Lesotho, to eastern western Cape.
