Subspecies
The following 3 subspecies are recognised:

semirufa (R�ppell, 1840) - Western Eritrea and southern and western Ethiopia south to south-eastern Sudan and northern Kenya.
donaldsoni Sharpe, 1895 - Eastern Ethiopia and adjacent north-western Somalia.
intercedens (Cabanis, 1878) - Central and south-eastern Kenya and northern Tanzania.
