Remarks
A vagrant, adult male, was recently reported at Malanda, Atherton Tablelands, Queensland, Australia, in February, 2011 (see Birding-aus, Feb 8, 2011).
Habitat
Boreal forest. Also, temperate forest, subtropical and tropical lowland and montane moist forest, lowland moist shrubland, high altitude shrubland, mangroves. From sea-level - 1,500 m.

Vagrant to Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Maldives, Malta, Nepal, Netherlands, Norway, Oman (P), Poland, Portugal, Sweden, United Arab Emirates (P), United Kingdom.
Central and eastern Siberia east to Kamchatka, south to northern Mongolia and Amurland. Non-breeding north-eastern Indian Subcontinent east to Taiwan, south to Greater Sundas and Philippines.

Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010).
Voice
A thin 'zieeh', 'seee', 'tsuii' or 'seep', uttered in contact or flight. Also a thin 'sip-sip' or 'zip-zip'. Occasionally deeper chuckling 'tuck-tuck' or 'kyott-kyott' notes. Also a rattled 'turrr'. Song is simple usually comprising three notes. Also disjointed simple phrases 'teveteu...trrrryutetyute...trrryutetyutyu' followed by high trills or buzzes.
Similar Species
Brown-headed Thrush (Turdus chrysolaus) which lacks the prominent white supercillium, a narrow white streak from bill to below eye and short white malar and chin streak. Female Brown-headed Thrush (Turdus chrysolaus) also lacks blue-grey hood.
