Subspecies
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
sibirica (Pallas, 1776) - Central and eastern Siberia south to northern Mongolia, northern Manchuria and Russian Far East. Non-breeding south-eastern Asia south to Greater Sundas.
davisoni (Hume, 1877) - Sakhalin, southern Kuril Is and Japan. Non-breeding south-eastern China south to southern Sundaic region.
