Subspecies
No subspecies.

Forms a superspecies with Great Woodswallow (Artamus maximus) and White-backed Woodswallow (Artamus insignis). Birds from Sula Is described as a geographical subspecies, sulaensis, are regarded as insufficiently differentiated from those in rest of species' range
