Formerly placed in a monotypic genus, Uroleuca. Has been thought to form a superspecies with Violaceous Jay (Cyanocorax violaceus), Purplish Jay (Cyanocorax cyanomelas) and Azure Jay (Cyanocorax coeruleus).
