Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland dry grassland and shrubland. From sea-level - 3,000 m.

Range (Guide)

Mongolia (except NW) and south & east Russian Transbaikalia south to north-western & northern China (SE Altai and north-eastern slopes of Tien Shan, in north-eastern Xinjiang, east to Central Inner Mongolia). Non-breeding mainly Arabia and north-eastern Africa.

Population
Estimated population is unknown (2013).

Subspecies
No subspecies.

Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Isabelline Shrike (Lanius isabellinus).
