Usually singly or in twos. Also small family groups.

Voice
A liquid 'chee-op', ending in a slight whipcrack. A loud, repeated, 'zhip'. A harsh 'chit' uttered in alarm. A harsher 'zhzhurr' uttered in aggression. The male has a quiet, animated chirruping song.
Nest
Cup-shaped, composed of strips of bark, fine twigs and leaves, in a tree or shrub, usually 1 m or so above the ground. Usually in dense cover close to water.
Eggs (Guide)
2; light brow, olive or pale green, faintly marked or clouded with dull brown-red; oval; about 21 x 16 mm. Incubation: 14 - 15 days; by female.
Young
Altricial, nidicolous. Fledge in 11 - 14 days. Fed by both parents and helpers.
