Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest.

Rarity Status
Currently this species is not classified as a rarity in this country OR information has not been updated.
Status EX
Known from only about seven specimens, the last three of which were collected by Deppe in the hills behind Honolulu in 1837. Extinction was presumably caused by a combination of habitat destruction and the introduction of disease-carrying mosquitoes.
