Subtropical and tropical montane moist forest. Also, subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest, heavily degraded former forest, rural gardens.
Indonesia.
Lombok, Sumbawa and Flores, in western Lesser Sundas.

Subspecies
No subspecies.
Forms a superspecies with Olive Honeyeater (Lichmera argentauris ). Subspecies lombokia (Lombok) and fumidigula (Sumbawa and Flores) have been proposed but more study needed. Also, proposed subspecies narmadae (from Lombok) is a synonym of the name lombokia .
