Common within a restricted range. Sedentary.

Habitat
Rainforest, adjacent and remnant agricultural land, regrowth rainforest. From 500 - 900 m, but up to 1,400 m.

Habitat fragmentation and clearing are the main threats.

Habits
Usually singly. Less often in twos, thress or in loose congregations of 4 - 8. Often seen associating with other fruit eaters and bowerbirds.

Food
Mostly fruit and leaves, and some invertebrates.

Nest
Saucer-shaped, frail, composed of thin dry sticks, lined with finer twigs, usually in dense foliage or in a vine-mass, from 10 - 25 m above the ground.

Eggs (Guide)
2; slightly lustrous, cream or buff-cream; oval; about 42 x 29 mm. Incubation: by female.

Young
Probably semi-altricial, nidicolous. Fledge in about 22 days.

Subspecies
No subspecies.

Birds from Johnstone R described as a geographical subspecies, minor, but differences from those in rest of range considered trivial.
