Extreme eastern Colombia, southern and south-eastern Venezuela, the Guianas, and Amazonian Brazil (R Negro drainage east to Amapá and R Araguaia); isolated records in eastern Peru (Loreto, Madre de Dios) and north-eastern Bolivia (north-eastern Santa Cruz).
