Subspecies
Closely related to Giant Pitta (Hydrornis caeruleus) and Blue Pitta (Hydrornis cyaneus). May also share some affinities with Hydrornis group.
No subspecies.
Similar Species
Giant Pitta (Hydrornis caeruleus) is larger with more massive bill, colder brown on head and black on crown.
