Rarity Status
Currently this species is not classified as a rarity in this country OR information has not been updated.
Status EX
Rapid population decline in the 1960s was most likely due to introduction of large-mouth bass and increasing pressure on breeding by reed cutting and tourism. Decline continued until in 1983 only 30 individuals reamined and it was extinct by 1986.
