Subspecies
Some similarities with Aviceda.
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
fasciatus Lawrence, 1869 - Eastern Mexico (Oaxaca and Veracruz) to western Colombia and western Ecuador.
bidentatus (Latham, 1790) - Eastern Colombia and eastern Ecuador through Amazonia to eastern Bolivia (Beni) and south-eastern Brazil; Trinidad.
