Subspecies
Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Sulawesi Honey-buzzard (Pernis celebensis).

The following 2 subspecies are recognised:

  • winkleri Gamauf & Preleuthner, 1998   -  Luzon I.
  • steerei Sclater, WL, 1919   -  Philippines.
