Rarity Status
Currently this species is not classified as a rarity in this country OR information has not been updated.
Status EX
Known only from one surviving specimen in the Merseyside County Museums, and one lost specimen, collected between 1783 and 1823. The providence of the specimens is unknown. Although purely speculation, it is not unreasonable to assume that extinction was caused by hunting for food and perhaps predation by human comensals.
