Few localities in south-central Brazil, in Cuiabá, southern Mato Grosso, southern Goiás to Itapura, and extreme western Sío Paulo. Recently found in Mato Grosso; listed for Minas Gerais, but apparently in error.

Status CR
Habitat destruction and degradation through grazing, invasive grasses, annual burning and conversion to agriculture, are the main threats.
