Rarity Status
Currently this species is not classified as a rarity in this country OR information has not been updated.
Status EX
Known from numerous historical accounts and many bones. They were very rare by 1755 when Cossigny tried to obtain one without success, but was told that the species did still survive. It was definitely extinct by the 1760s. Extinction was probably caused by hunting and predation by introduced rats.
