Range (Guide)

Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan.

Vagrant to Somalia.

North-western Somalia, Djibouti, central and southern Ethiopia, south-eastern Sudan and north-west, northern and central Kenya.

Subspecies
Possibly forms superspecies with Plain Nightjar (Caprimulgus inornatus). Birds from lake region of southern Ethiopia formerly separated as subspecies simplex.
