Habits
In pairs or small family groups.
Voice
Territorial call of male is a long series of short notes, 'whock, whock, whock', that builds slowly in cadence to a peak, when the bird flies from its perch and utters a descending series of 2-syllable notes, 'whut-whoo, whut-whoo', in flight. The female may echo parts of this performance in a duet.
