Subspecies
The following 5 subspecies are recognised:
tytleri (Hume, 1874) - Andaman Is and nearby Cocos Is.
nicobarica (Gould, 1857) - Nicobar Is.
longicauda (Boddaert, 1783) - Southern Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore through Sumatra, Nias and Bangka to Anambas Is and Borneo.
modesta (Fraser, 1845) - Enggano I (off south-western Sumatra).
defontainei Chasen, 1935 - Natuna Is (off western Borneo).
