Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest.

Rarity Status
Currently this species is not classified as a rarity in this country OR information has not been updated.
Status EX
Said to be abundant by Leguat in 1691, but Pingré noted that it was scarce by 1761, and the last record was a bird collected in 1875. Extinction was presumably caused by a combination of habitat loss and hunting.
