Habitat
Subtropical and tropical moist lowland forest, subtropical and tropical dry and moist shrubland. From sea-level - 1,300 m.

Range (Guide)

Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand.

Southern Thailand, western Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra and associated islands, and Borneo and associated islands. Also western Java, where presumably introduced.

Currently this species is not classified as a rarity in this country OR information has not been updated.

Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010).

Status LC
Trapping for the cage-bird trade is the main threat.
