None. Egg(s) laid in that of the foster parents.
Eggs (Guide)
1; faint pinkish-white, marked all over with spots of mid-brown and fainter pale grey; oval; about 21 x 15 mm. Incubation is carried out by the species whose nest has been parasitised.
Subspecies
The following 3 subspecies are recognised:
castaneiventris (Gould, 1867) - Cape York Peninsula, Torres Strait and Aru Island.
arfakianus Salvadori, 1889 - West Papuan Island and north-western New Guinea, extending east to Mamberamo River, on northern coast and to Fly River on southern coast.
weiskei Reichenow, 1900 - Mountains of south-eastern New Guinea, west to Sepik Region in the north and Utakwa River in the south.
