Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest. Also, subtropical and tropical lowland moist shrubland, heavily degraded former forest, plantations. From sea-level - 2,000 m.
Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela.

poliocephalus (Aldrich, 1937) - Western & central Panama.
panamensis (Carriker, 1910) - Central & eastern Panama.
harterti (Brabourne & Chubb, C, 1914) - Western Colombia, western Ecuador.
caucae (Chapman, 1912) - North-central Colombia.
mustelinus (Bangs, 1905) - North-eastern Colombia, north-western Venezuela.
andrei (Brabourne & Chubb, C, 1914) - North-eastern Venezuela, Trinidad.
soui (Hermann, 1783) - Eastern Colombia to the Guianas and north-eastern Brazil.
caquetae (Chapman, 1915) - South-eastern Colombia.
nigriceps (Chapman, 1923) - Eastern Ecuador, north-eastern Peru.
