Subspecies
Yuhina castaniceps (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) has been split into Striated Yuhina (Yuhina castaniceps) and Indochinese Yuhina (Yuhina torqueola) following Collar (2006).
castaniceps (Moore, 1854) - North-eastern Indian hill states (western and south of Nagaland), south-eastern Bangladesh, and western and south-western Myanmar.
rufigenis (Hume, 1877) - Sikkim and Darjeeling east to Bhutan and north-eastern India (western Arunachal Pradesh).
plumbeiceps (Godwin-Austen, 1877) - North-eastern India (eastern Arunachal Pradesh south to Nagaland), northern Myanmar and southern China (western Yunnan).
striata (Blyth, 1859) - Eastern and southern Myanmar (including Tenasserim) and north-western and western Thailand.
