Habitat
Montane broadleaved evergreen forest with undergrowth of bracken, ferns or Strobilanthes, on steep hillsides broken with rocks and large boulders covered with rich vegetation and green moss, thick, low, often thorny bushes, briars and dwarf bamboo, especially at the edge of evergreen forest and in clearings, often in dense undergrowth near water. From 1,200 - 3,100 m.
Nagaland and northern Manipur, in north-eastern India.
 
Population
Estimated population is 2,500 - 9,999 (2011) and decreasing.
Status NT
Habitat destruction due to logging and clearance of forest for small-scale agriculture is the main threat.
