Green-tailed Emerald (Chlorostilbon alice) [XC202346]
by id from Sanare quarry, Lara, Venezuela (call)
Subspecies
Possibly forms a superspecies with Narrow-tailed Emerald (Chlorostilbon stenurus) and Short-tailed Emerald (Chlorostilbon poortmani). Subspecies ignotus of Narrow-tailed Emerald (Chlorostilbon stenurus) has been considered synonymous with Green-tailed Emerald (Chlorostilbon alice). Probably includes Chlorostilbon micans, with all of plumage rich reddish-golden, known only from type specimen of unknown origin. "Ptochoptera iolaima", known from a specimen taken at Ypanema, Sío Paulo (Brazil), is probably a hybrid with Short-tailed Emerald (Chlorostilbon poortmani).
