Habitat
Subtropical and tropical High Altitude grassland, rocky areas. From 3,200 - 5,000 m.
Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Peru.
Central and southern Peru (Junín south to Tacna and Puno), northern Chile (Tarapacá), south-western Bolivia (La Paz south to Potosí) and north-western Argentina (south to western Tucumán).

Estimated population is unknown (2010).
