Subspecies
Proposed subspecies baumgarti (described from Windhoek, in central Namibia) synonymized with nominate.

The following 2 subspecies are recognised:

rensi Benson, 1943 - Southern and eastern Zambia, Malawi, north, eastern and central Zimbabwe, and central Mozambique.
usticollis Sundevall, 1850 - Southern Angola (southern Hu��la, Cunene), northern and central Namibia, northern and eastern Botswana, south-western and southern Zimbabwe, southern Mozambique, north-eastern South Africa (Northern Province, north-eastern KwaZulu-Natal) and eastern Swaziland.
