Habitat
Bogs and moist elfin forest intermixed with tree-ferns and tall grass, bamboo-fringed glades. From 2,745 - 3,700 m.
Colombia, Ecuador (B), Peru (B).
Isolated sites in Peru, in Piura, Amazonas, La Libertad and Cuzco.
 
Population
Estimated population is 10,000 (2010) and decreasing.
Status NT
Habitat destruction and degradation through conversion to agriculture, burning and grazing are the main threats.
