Kenya (B) (NB), Tanzania [United Republic of] (B) (NB).

Highlands of western and central Kenya south to northern Tanzania.

Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010).

Status NT
Destruction and fragmentation of montane grasslands due to intensified agricultural development and livestock production, is the main threat.

A domed ball of woven grass with a side entrance, lined with grass seedheads, situated within 10 cm of the ground in a tuft of grass, with living grass bent down over it to form a bower.
