Subtropical and tropical moist lowland forest, subtropical and tropical dry forest.

Range (Guide)

Angola, Cameroon, Congo [The Democratic Republic of the], Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Tanzania [United Republic of], Uganda.

South-western and southern Cameroon, north-eastern Gabon, north-western Angola, north-eastern DRCongo, Uganda and north-western Tanzania.

Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010).

Subspecies
Forms a superspecies with Black-faced Apalis (Apalis personata), possibly also with Yellow-breasted Apalis (Apalis flavida). Sometimes treated as conspecific with Black-faced Apalis (Apalis personata).
