Subspecies
The following 5 subspecies are recognised:

sordida (R�ppell, 1837) - Ethiopia.
ernesti Sharpe, 1900 - Eastern Uganda and central Kenya.
olimotiensis Elliott, HFI, 1945 - Crater Highlands (northern Tanzania).
hypospodia Shelley, 1885 - Mt Kilimanjaro (northern Tanzania).
rudolfi (Madar�sz, 1912) - Northern Kenya (Mt. Elgon moorlands) and adjacent eastern Uganda.
