Subspecies
Subspecies wilderi weakly differentiated, sometimes subsumed in nominate.
The following 3 subspecies are recognised:
erythaca Blyth, 1862 - Central and southern China (south-western Shanxi south to south-eastern Xizang and north-western Yunnan and southern Sichuan) and eastern Himalayas from north-eastern India (Sikkim) east to extreme northern Myanmar.
wilderi Riley, 1918 - North-eastern China (western Beijing and northern Hebei).
