Habitat
Boreal forest, urban areas, pastureland, arable land.
China (mainland), Japan, Mongolia, Myanmar, North Korea (B), Philippines, Russia (Asian), South Korea, Taiwan (China), Vietnam.
Vagrant to Northern Mariana Islands, Thailand.
Breeds south-eastern Transbaikalia east to south-eastern Russia (R Ussuri), south to central and eastern Mongolia, northern China (east from eastern Qinghai and Sichuan), Korea, southern Sakhalin I, Japan and southern Kuril Is. Non-breeding southern China (including Hainan I and Hong Kong) and Taiwan.
