Yellow-footed Gull (Larus livens) [XC86769]
by Richard E. Webster from Lighthouse Peninsula, Bahia de los Angeles, BCN, Mexico (call)
Subspecies
Until recently treated as a subspecies of Western Gull (Larus occidentalis), but differs in vocal repertoire, particularly its lower-pitched long call. Some authorities consider it more closely related to, and perhaps derived from, Kelp Gull (Larus dominicanus).
