Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest, dry forest, dry shrubland, rural gardens. From sea-level - 500 m.
Bahamas, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Turks and Caicos Islands, USA.
Bahamas (south to San Salvador and northern Caicos) through Cuba and I of Pines to Hispaniola and Puerto Rico. Formerly also Florida Keys, where now merely vagrant.

Subspecies
Like most of congeners, formerly placed in genus Oreopeleia . Forms a superspecies with Bridled Quail-Dove (Geotrygon mystacea ).
No subspecies.
