Subspecies
Recently treated as monotypic, but subspecies appear quite distinct.
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
nigroauritus (Kinnear, 1944) - North-eastern India (western and central Arunachal Pradesh) and adjacent southern China (south-eastern Xizang).
pulchellus (Godwin-Austen, 1874) - North-eastern India (eastern Arunachal Pradesh south to Nagaland), northern Myanmar and southern China (western and north-western Yunnan).
