Habitat
Shola forests with dense undergrowth and plenty of leaf-litter, cardamom and coffee plantations, and moist thickets in ravines. From 700 m to the highest summits.

Southern Western Ghats (Nilgiris south to Travancore), in south-western India.

Estimated population is unknown (2010).
Status LC
Habitat destruction and human disturbance are the main threats.
