Yellow-footed Gull (Larus livens) [XC465323]
by Paul Marvin from Isla Santa Catalina, Baja California Sur, Mexico (call)
Subspecies
Until recently treated as a subspecies of Western Gull (Larus occidentalis), but differs in vocal repertoire, particularly its lower-pitched long call. Some authorities consider it more closely related to, and perhaps derived from, Kelp Gull (Larus dominicanus).
