Subspecies
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:

macrorhynchus (Fraser, 1839) - Sierra Leone east to Ghana.
verreauxii (Schlegel, 1854) - Nigeria, Cameroon and Bioko (Fernando Póo) south to Gabon, south-western Congo, western Zaire and northern Angola (Cabinda).
