Habitat
Interior of primary rainforest with thin undergrowth. Also plantations.

Range (Guide)

C�te dIvoire (B) (NB), Ghana (B) (NB), Liberia (B) (NB), Sierra Leone (B) (NB).

South-eastern Sierra Leone through Liberia and Ivory Coast to western Ghana.

Population
Estimated population is 85,000 (2010) and decreasing.

Status VU
Habitat loss through logging and hunting are the main thrats.

Habits
Singly, in pairs or small groups. Most commonly in groups of 15-24 birds, foraging for food.

Food
Insects, small molluscs, berries and fallen seeds of forest trees.

Voice
Low deep 'kok-kok'. Also a loud, ringing, melodious call. Rather vocal, uttering dry ticking calls.
