Primary and secondary lowland dipterocarp to lower montane , peatswamp and kerangas forest. From sea-level - 1,300 m.

Brunei Darussalam (B), Indonesia (B), Malaysia (B), Myanmar (B), Singapore (NB), Thailand (B).

Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010) and decreasing.

Status NT
Habitat loss through illegal logging and conversion to agriculture, and fires are the main threats.

Usually singly or in pairs.

An upslurred 'sweet-sweet-sweet...', repeated.
