Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest, temperate forest. From sea-level - 1,500 m.
Cambodia, China (mainland), Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, North Korea (B), Russia (Asian), Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam.
Vagrant to Hong Kong (China).
South-eastern Russia (eastern from L Baikal) south to north-eastern China and northern Korea. Non-breeding south-eastern Asia and south-eastern China.

Estimated population is unknown (2010).
