Chad, Egypt, Israel (B), Jordan (B) (NB), Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Oman (B), Saudi Arabia (B), Sudan, Yemen (B).

Vagrant to Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, United Arab Emirates.

Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010).

Subspecies
Sometimes placed in genus Ammomanes, and has been considered by some to be close to Gray's Lark (Ammomanopsis grayi), but appears distinct.

The following 2 subspecies are recognised:

dunni (Shelley, 1904) - Southern edge of Sahara in Mauritania, northern and central Mali, southern Niger, northern Chad and central Sudan.
eremodites (Meinertzhagen, R, 1923) - Jordan (Azraq), southern Israel (sporadic), northern and central Saudi Arabia and south-western Oman. Considered by some authors to be a distinct species, Arabian Lark (Eremalauda eremodites).
