Habitat
Woodlands, thickets, copses, orchards and large gardens. From 1,200 - 3,100 m.

Range (Guide)

Saudi Arabia (B) (NB), Yemen (B) (NB).

South-western Saudi Arabia (south of 21� north) and western Yemen.

Population
Estimated population is 2,500 - 9,999 (2010) and decreasing.

Status NT
Lopping and cutting of trees and shrubs, for fuel, fodder and building material, high levels of grazing and browsing by livestock, are the main threats.

Voice
Song is a fluty series of high-pitched phrases, mostly heard at dawn. An explosive 'chuck-chuck' is the most typical call.
