Subspecies
Genus has sometimes been placed in Coerebidae or Parulidae, but molecular-genetic data indicate that it belongs in present family, with Oreomanes as sister-group.
No subspecies.
Similar Species
Cinereous Conebill (Conirostrum cinereum) lacks rufous on throat, and has white eyebrow.
