Subspecies
The following 5 subspecies are recognised:
striata (Vigors, 1831) - Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal Pradesh, in northern India.
vibex (Ripley, 1950) - Western and east-central Nepal.
sikkimensis Ticehurst, 1924 - Eastern Nepal east to east-central Bhutan.
brahmaputra (Hachisuka, 1953) - Eastern Bhutan, north-eastern India (Arunachal Pradesh), and adjacent southern China (south-eastern Xizang) and northern Myanmar.
cranbrooki Kinnear, 1932 - Northern and north-eastern Myanmar and adjacent southern China (north-western Yunnan).
